Dak Prescott 2016

During last Sunday’s Cowboy game against Baltimore a small event occurred that spoke volumes to me about quarterback Dak Prescott.

It was the 4th quarter, Dallas had just scored, and Dak was sitting alone on the bench. He filled the TV screen as he drank from a paper cup.

As the camera panned out he looked over his right shoulder and spotted a trash can four to five feet behind him. He casually tossed his cup towards the can. Short! The cup tumbled to the ground. He turned and looked at the field for just a second and then got up and retrieved the cup and deposited it correctly.

The obvious joke is he is a pinpoint passer but can’t make a five foot layup.

But in that act of cleaning up his own mess he demonstrated two things – responsibility and humility.  His mother who died 3 years ago from colon cancer left a young man grounded and grateful. We are the beneficiaries.

I wish everyone would pick up there trash and put it where it belongs.
Thanks Dak for setting a good example.
